Our quality commitments

With over 50 years of research, we are continually adapting and improving our products to provide an alternative to breast milk. We are proud to work with qualified medical and scientific partners. The 500 scientists and experts at our Danone Nutricia Center in Utrecht, the Netherlands, conduct research on breast milk, nutrition, growth, microbiology, metabolism and immunity.

• Vitamins, Minerals and Oligosaccharide Fibers

These nutrients are important to contribute to the nutritional needs and development of infants and young children throughout their growth.

• Fish Oil

This ingredient is rich in DHA, an essential fatty acid.

• Vegetable oils

We replace milk fat with a blend of vegetable oils to obtain a lipid profile inspired by breast milk.

• Skimmed Cow's Milk, Lactose & Whey Proteins

Cow's milk is the main ingredient of our infant formulas. We add:

• Lactose because it is the sugar naturally present in milk.

• Whey proteins to try to get as close as possible to the casein-lactoserum ratio of breast milk.

2 to 5 years. That's how long it takes to become a Danone supplier. It's a long process because each manufacturing site must meet all of our quality and food safety standards as well as our technical, regulatory, environmental and social requirements.

To ensure that our suppliers' ingredients meet our specifications, we analyze hundreds of different parameters on each batch.

The ingredients used in our factories are tested by accredited and certified external laboratories.

We audit our suppliers several times a year and conduct continuous improvement projects through our "Partner for Quality" program. These partnerships are based on trust and can last up to 50 years, a sign of a lasting relationship.

Guaranteeing the quality and safety of our products is our priority, which is why our factories are FSSC 22000 certified and incorporate state-of-the-art technology. Our internal controls are strict and independent organizations certify our entire production chain.

Our products undergo hundreds of quality checks and tests, many of which go beyond regulations, to protect the health of babies. They are marketed if they meet all our internal and regulatory criteria.

In addition to these controls, we implement preventive measures throughout the production process, from the storage of each ingredient to checking the tightness of the box. Very strict measures, regularly audited:

• Milk powder is never exposed to the air. It is packaged in a protective atmosphere with less than 2% oxygen, making it impossible for a living organism to survive in these conditions.
• Highly secure workshops, with access limited to authorized, equipped and trained personnel.
• Complete traceability.

And because it is important that our infant formulas reach our customers with the same quality as when they leave our factories, we have also put in place preventive processes during storage and transport and we work closely with our commercial partners to guarantee the best possible quality on the shelf.
